Right Track to a Peak Experience

A Sense of Adventure

Since childhood, Lynda Bennett has been inspired to experience new things.

After graduating high school, Lynda headed west on a train to work at a ranch in Wyoming for the summer, discovering her lifelong love of ‘the mountains’. Climbing to the peak of Mount Teton and learning to bake bread on a wood cook stove for a bunch of hungry ranch hands, taught her not to fear experiences outside her comfort zone. She could handle it.

She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire receiving solid natural resource management curriculum in economics, forestry, plant sciences, and habitat management.

In the evenings, she worked as a waitress at a waterfront diner serving lobster to locals.

Yet she still found time to wear holes in her hiking boots exploring New England.

About this time she began to understand that socialism would never work because some people always work harder than other people and they deserved to be paid better for their efforts. Politics were already shaping Lynda’s future.

After graduation many people go searching for a job. Lynda went looking for adventure. Three girl friends headed to discover many of the nation’s natural wonders. One look at snow capped Mount Rainer backed by brilliant blue skies – and she headed over the mountain to Yakima, Washington.

Pleasant Hill Orchard offered a unique opportunity for practical application of her ‘book learning’. Her success stemmed from an ability to make decisions in a changing economic environment. She expanded the operation to include picking, packing and marketing unheard of varieties of apples we now know as ‘heirlooms’.

Free markets worked for her. An entrepreneur was born.

A Natural Choice

Family kept calling her back closer to home.

The Mother Earth News Magazine and Eco-Village near Hendersonville, NC offered an opportunity to teach classes to visitors about self-reliance, natural foods and a healthy lifestyle. Lynda’s management skills assisted in opening the farm-to-table restaurant serving fresh produce raised on the property.

Her public speaking skills, love of working with people, and ability to communicate complex ideas blossomed in this environment until the magazine relocated to New York.

Reach New Heights

In 1986, she changed careers, and found her calling in real estate. This realtor has rarely met a stranger, has an optimistic outlook, and is determined to be the very best at anything she tackles.

Mountain Heritage

Lynda Bennett’s business background includes thirty-three years in the real estate industry. Lynda and her husband Pat Bennett owned and operated a full service real estate company and vacation rental management company in Haywood County. Without question, Lynda’s background provides her with a solid foundation of real-life experience that will benefit western North Carolina’s District 11 in the challenging environment of Washington DC.

Do the Right Thing

Lynda’s volunteer work included teaching youth Sunday school, leading a local Girl Scout troop for 5 years, and serving as past President of the Haywood County Multiple Listing Service. She presently serves on the Haywood County Board of Equalization and Review. She and her husband Pat are active members of the Calvary Road Baptist Church.

Republican Background

Lynda became active in the Republican Party. Rising through the ranks, she is presently serving as Vice-chair of the Haywood County Republican Party, has served as past GOP Secretary, and is the recipient of the 2019 Golden Elephant Award for volunteerism. She has been elected a delegate to many NC state conventions and alternate to two national conventions. Lynda serves on the District 11 and NC state Executive Committees.

Her activism was encouraged through training as a Sentinel with Heritage Action for America, the activism arm of the Heritage Foundation, Freedom Works, Tea Party Patriots and the 9-12 Project.

Conservative, Christian, Constitutionalist

Lynda is an evangelical Christian. Since we live in a dangerous time when truth is difficult to find, she turns to founding documents such as the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and natural law which are based on Judeo-Christian teachings.

Lynda has learned that things are not always the way they appear. You cannot judge a book by its cover.

This election is not a contest between two political parties. It is a collision between two worldviews. Lynda believes that our rights come from God and are protected by the Constitution. The opposition believes that rights come from the government.

The High Country of the Great Smoky Mountains

It has been a pleasure to live and work where many come to vacation. Lynda finds it hard to leave the beauty and safety of home for the DC Swamp.

It will be worth it if she can join President Trump and support his winning agenda for America then bring the benefits home to western North Carolina. President Trump is on the right track and has accomplished much in the last few years

Once elected to Congress it will be an honor to represent the people of NC District 11. Her goal is to develop a good working relationship with local leadership that benefits each of the 17 counties in District 11.

“Living and working in western North Carolina is a privilege and a choice. It is a wonderful place to raise a family, to grow a garden or to hike a mountain trail. It will be difficult to leave and go to work in Washington DC but it is necessary. With your prayers, ask that God's will be done,” Lynda Bennett.
